Stedi Launches ChatGPT App for Eligibility Checks — What RCM Teams Need to Know

Stedi's app is the first approved ChatGPT app in OpenAI's app store for healthcare eligibility checks — available now for ChatGPT Business and Enterprise accounts.

What It Is

Stedi — one of the most widely used EDI clearing platforms in healthcare — just shipped a native ChatGPT integration. It lives in OpenAI's ChatGPT app store and connects to your existing Stedi production account via OAuth. Once you authorize it, you invoke it with the /stedi command in any ChatGPT conversation.

It does two things out of the box:

The Setup Requirements

A few guardrails worth knowing before you try to roll this out:

Patient eligibility data is PHI. Before anyone on your team uses this in a production workflow, confirm your organization has a BAA in place with OpenAI. ChatGPT Business accounts can request one through OpenAI's enterprise support. No BAA = compliance exposure.
